This film is about an issue affecting trout populations throughout southern Alberta, and especially on the Bow River. The term for the problem is “entrainment,” which means loss of trout to irrigation canals. It was identified as a significant issue early in the 20th century, and is yet to be dealt with.
Dave is a long-time advocate for Alberta’s wild and natural places, with extensive experience fishing the Bow River.
Jim McLennan has been fascinated by Alberta’s trout streams for 60 years, was the first fly-fishing guide on the Bow, and has written about the sport extensively.
Dave and Jim are two of the founders of The Trout Trust. Find out more about the organization at thetrouttrust.com.
Bring a guest and encourage them to become a CFGA member and be entered into this draw. You will also get an entry as a referral!
